Sailing.  If astrology applies to countries, Greece surely is a water sign.  Its geography consists of over 15,000 kilometers of coastline and more than 1500 islands and islets.  You can stand anywhere on Greek terrain and be within 100 miles of the sea.   Naturally, this type of environment encourages sailing as a major activity.  We own and operate our own traditional sailing schoonera, a wooden motor yacht that gets your party around to the most secluded coves in the Aegean, as well as its most handsome harbors. Hiking. Paths trod by villagers since Byzantine days, known as "kalderimi," have become popular ecotourism footpaths and are in abundance on the Cyclades such as Andros and Tinos. In Santorini the hike along the caldera ridge at dusk has tremendous sunset views. Donkey trails are still used in many places like Lesvos. In Crete, along the southern coast of the Libyan Sea lies the European hiking route. Perhaps some of the best hiking lies in Zagoria north of Ioannina.
